Article text
The New Lights Prize Exhibition celebrates the best of Northern art with the selected artists coming from all over the UK but having a Northern connection. All selected works are on display at the Bowes Museum in County Durham until 7th February. It will then open at the Mercer Gallery in Harrogate from 17th February to 12th June 2016 before heading down to London and the Panter and Hall Gallery where it will be open from 27th June - 1st July.

Hester's selected print 'Tracks and Traces' celebrates her favourite hill, Penyghent. Through the print she explores the themes of pathways, tracks, trods & traces which directly relate to her fellrunning but also to the landscape where she lives which is essentially a playground for all adventure lovers, cyclists, walkers, runners, cavers & even the occasional paraglider. It’s also a region of quarrying & sheep farming.
